Living Well Lenten Lunch

Lenten Lunch in aid of Living Well
Sunday 04 March 2018

On Sunday 04 March 2018, after the 1100 service of Matins, members of the congregation stayed behind for a Lenten Lunch of soup, bread and cheese in aid of the charity Living Well.

Living Well is a caring community which aims to be a place where people feel accepted, loved and valued. They work with partners to support people with different needs – including addictions, mental health problems, debt or homelessness – in Penge, South East London and the surrounding areas. Their work reflects their Christian beliefs and everyone is welcome, whoever they are. Their services are all free to use and include a foodbank, a community lunch, mental health support, debt advice and help with addiction.

Below are some photos taken at the lunch, which raised £300 for this very worthwhile charity.

In the background of the last photo can be seen the artist's proof or maquette of the Coventry Dresden Cope, the finished version of which was blessed and dedicated by the Archbishop of Canterbury on 01 March 2017.  It is to be worn on commemorative occasions by those involved in the work of Reconciliation and the Community of the Cross of Nails in Coventry and in Dresden. The maquette is on display in the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula throughout Lent 2018.
