Messiah 10 November 2017

On Friday 10 November 2017 the Choir and Musicians of the Chapels Royal, HM Tower of London, gave a performance of Messiah by George Frideric Handel, in the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula.

This performance was given in honour of the late Professor Anthony Mellows. It was attended by his widow Mrs Elizabeth Mellows and members of her family,  General The Lord Dannatt (lately Constable of the Tower) and other distinguished guests and members of the congregation of the Chapels Royal, HM Tower of London.

The Choir of the Chapels Royal, HM Tower of London, supplied all the soloists, in addition to singing the choral parts. The audience enjoyed a moving occasion of the highest musical quality, which was a fitting tribute to a man who did so much for the Chapels Royal and who took a particular interest in the Choir.

The photograph below captures a moment from the performance.
